There are road works outside our central Manchester conference centre between late August and October. Consequently, so you can inform conference delegates and trainers, the page below sets out all the information we have about the road closures taking place.
The closure is out of our control and is organised by Manchester City council. The work is to facilitate the installation of Manchester Civic Quarter Heat Network. The closures involve excavating roads, footways and verges to accommodate the installation of new below ground services.
Road works are taking place outside the front of the conference centre
From 5am on Tuesday 27 August until 5am on Friday 25 October 2019 Mount Street will be completely closed to traffic. The closure will be from the junction with Peter Street up to the junction of Lloyd Street at Albert Square.
Access to the building
Access to the building will remain the same from street level. To get to Mount Street the pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closures. And you will be able to use the main entrance as normal.
However, you will not be able to drive along Mount Street. There will be no drop-off or pick-up outside the meeting house. The parking spaces for blue badge holders on Mount Street will also be unavailable. You can find out more about disabled parking at https://www.manchester.gov.uk/info/274/disabled_parking.
Alternative transport to the conference centre and further information
Pedestrian access is not hindered therefore we would suggest using public transport. We have plenty of public transport links for your delegates to use and St Peter’s tram stop is a minute walk away from our front door. For more information on how to find us see our find us page at: https://meetinghousemanchester.co.uk/wp/find-us/
If there is anything we can do to aid you or your delegates then let us know. We will do our best to accommodate your needs. In the meantime download our Helpful hints and tips for more details on local amenities and the local area.
